As we all know, many people of the state have been worse affected by the situation of covid-19 and lockdown. And this creates a lot of difficulties to carry on their day-to-day livelihood. By keeping this in mind the chief minister BD Yediyurappa has created a new scheme known as Karnataka Driver Scheme. The main aim of launching this scheme is to provide financial help amongst the poor people of the state so that they could cope up with the situation that got affected by the pandemic of covid-19.

Karnataka Driver Scheme Achievement Highlights
The achievement highlights of this scheme are as follows:-
- The government of Karnataka has made up a target of covering around 2.10 lakhs beneficiaries and they have also been able to achieve this target.
- The financial stability of many drivers has become stable and improved after getting financial assistance due to which they can carry out their livelihood.
- The government has allocated an amount of Rs. 12.73 crores for providing financial assistance to around 69,000 flowers and vegetable growers.

Around 69,000 of Flowers Growers Got Benefit
Within launching this scheme, Government of Tamil Nadu has set up a target of covering around 69,000 of fruit as well as vegetable growers. For providing this amount of benefit, an amount of Rs. 12.73 Crores has been allocated by the government. Each eligible Fruit Grower/ Vegetable Grower will get Rs. 10,000 per hectare of the size of his/her farming land.
Representation of Budget
The State Government of Tamil Nadu has represented the budget of Rs. 494 crores. With this budget, soon the Government is going to provide financial assistance to the construction workers. Each eligible construction worker will get Rs. 3000. This decision has been made for providing social welfare to the construction workers. About 2.20 lakhs of construction workers will be able to get benefits under this initiative.
Around 3.04 Lakhs Of Unorganized Workers Will Get Benefit
The Government of Tamil Nadu is soon going to provide Rs. 3000 to each eligible worker of unorganized sector such as Artist, tailors, potters, mechanics, blacksmiths and domestic workers, etc. Government has allocated an amount of Rs. 4.82 crores. Around 3.04 lakhs of workers from the unorganized sector will be able to get this amount.
Facilitation Of One-Time Payment
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is going to provide or distribute one-time payment among the applicants such as washermen and hairstylists. Rs. 5,000 will be given to each washermen and as well as hairstylist. Apart from that the government will also cover the drivers of auto-rickshaws and cabs. They will also get the same amount as the washermen have been going to get.
Flowers Growers, Fruits And Vegetables Growers Benefits
The government will provide Rs. 12.73 crores to the flower growers under the scheme. Each and every flower grower will get Rs. 10,000 per hectare under this scheme. Around 20,000 flowers will get the benefit. The government has allocated the budget of Rs. 69 crore the beneficiary under this scheme will get Rs. 10,000 per hectare. Around 69000 fruit and vegetable growers are going to be benefited from this scheme.
Construction Workers And Street Vendors Benefits
The construction workers under the scheme will be benefited with Rs. 3,000. Only the workers who are registered under the Karnataka Building and other construction workers Welfare board will get the benefit of this scheme. Around Rs. 494 crore budget has been allocated by the government for the construction workers. Also, the government has allocated Rs. 44 crores for the street vendors who are registered under Atma Nirbhar Nidhi Yojana. Around 2.20 lakh beneficiaries will get Rs. 2000 each.
Artist And Unorganized Sectors Workers Benefits
The artist present under this scheme will get the financial assistance of Rs. 3000 each. And for this, the government has allocated a budget of Rs. 4.82 crores for artists and artists groups. Around 16095 people will get the benefit of this scheme. While all the unorganized sector workers like a tailor, Potter, mechanics, blacksmith, domestic workers will get Rs. 2000 each. And for this, the government has invested rupees Rs. 60.89 crores.

Karnataka Rs. 5000 Scheme Features
The features of this scheme are as follows:-
- The government has invested a budget of Rs. 1610 crores for the successful implementation of this scheme.
- The limit of Rs. 25000 has been decided by the legislature for one hectare.
- The auto taxi drivers will receive the assistance of Rs. 5000 as financial aid.
- This assistance will be given to around 7.75 lakh beneficiaries.
- Also, assistance of Rs. 5000 will be given to around 60,000 washermen.
- The bill charges of power bills for MSME will be postponed for 2 months.
- Weavers will get a bundle of Rs. 109 crores for advance weavers plans under Karnataka Driver Scheme.

- Also, the 10 listed fabricating laborers will also get one-time assistance of rupees Rs. 5000.
